Book fair update (Rachael)

  1. Thank you so much to all of our volunteers! You made the book fair possible.

  2. We distributed 183 titles to Lea students at the fair (more than 400 free books!) THANK YOU to all of our sponsors (Penn Literacy Network, UPenn GSE staff, Spruce Hill Assoc and our Lea community members who contributed to our book fund).

  3. Thank you to all students, staff and families who shopped the fair in person and online. Your purchases help us to provide free books to students and also to Lea staff!

  4. We had less parent traffic this year (which equated to less sales of books and swag) with the sale being held inside (but it was necessary to be inside due to weather). Half days made for frenetic classroom shopping. Therefore, in the Spring we will plan to hold the fair on full school days outside if at all possible. Also, consider holding the Fall 2023 fair earlier in the year (October) outside.

  5. Make sure we train volunteers more thoroughly next time so they know people can pay via Apple Pay, credit card, etc.
