HSA Meeting
3:45pm
1. School updates
Received brand modernized classroom furniture today for classrooms (mostly on 2nd and 3rd floor) that didn’t yet have modernized classroom furniture. Also new furniture for autism support classrooms.
Report card conferences are coming up
Volunteer orientations are monthly - contact Rich if you want to volunteer and haven’t yet done training or if you’ve done training and haven’t started volunteering yet.
Come on out to the next coffee with caregivers on Nov. 18!
2. Financial updates as of 11/2/22
$3865
$236 raised for free books for kids.
On 11/3/22 an additional $700 ($680 minutes PayPal fees) has been donated that is not included in any of these totals -ML
$3639 general
Paraeducators support:
~$22 spent so far
3. Book fair - Asking for more volunteers, bakers, and donors. Need more volunteers for Tuesday 11/22 and Wednesday 11/23. Sign up on the sheet or contact Rachael to learn more.
4. Spending August fundraiser money - Seems like the best way to spend the remainder is to help purchase more indoor recess supplies. Rich will work with Brown and Coach Jones to get a list and we can see how Penn funds and HSA funds can purchase everything together.
5. Yard projects - planning to install 2 benches on concrete in front of the garden. Working with a donor who wants to pay for one to honor her mother. HSA will work to raise funds to get a second bench to honor Mr. N. Ideas for donations: various councilperson / state senator offices, Home Depot, etc.
6. Other
Backpacks, clothing, coats leftovers: Will try to give these out during report card conferences, likely to set up a table somewhere near the book fair.
Concerns about chaotic auditorium dismissal procedure during inclement weather. This process was created when parents/guardians weren’t allowed in the building. Principal G will raise the idea for a new process with the leadership team.
